Our Impact

Building the Infrastructure for Lasting Change

Grace Place CDC is in an infrastructure-establishing phase — building the partnerships, governance, and funding foundation required to deliver measurable, lasting impact in North Mobile County. Our commitment to transparency means we will report honestly on what we have built and what we are building toward.

Where We Are

The Rebuild Phase

Grace Place CDC was incorporated in 2018, paused during COVID-19, and sustained a significant setback when our property at 4400 Government Street was destroyed by fire in 2021. In 2025, the organization re-emerged with renewed clarity, a refined three-pillar model, and a focused geographic mission. We are now building the institutional foundation that will enable us to deliver and measure real community outcomes.

Board Development

Recruiting and onboarding a diverse, skilled board of directors to provide governance, accountability, and strategic oversight for the organization.

Partnership Building

Establishing formal partnerships with local government, public agencies, faith institutions, healthcare providers, and educational organizations across North Mobile County.

Grant Funding

Pursuing federal, state, and philanthropic funding streams to capitalize the three-pillar program model and establish a sustainable operating foundation.

Community Presence

Establishing a physical presence and trusted relationships in Prichard, Chickasaw, Eight Mile, and Whistler — the communities Grace Place CDC is built to serve.

North Mobile County & Mobile Midtown

Grace Place CDC's primary service area is North Mobile County — specifically the communities of Prichard, Chickasaw, Eight Mile, and Whistler. These communities share interconnected challenges around education, economic mobility, and access to health and social services. Our three-pillar model is designed to address these challenges in a coordinated, place-based way.

Through P2CW — Power 2 Create Wealth — Grace Place CDC is also engaged in housing development work in the Mobile Midtown area, focused on expanding affordable housing inventory and creating pathways to homeownership for families who have been historically excluded from asset ownership.
